EPIC reserves the right to cancel a category if, at the sole discretion of the New Voices Chair(s), there are not enough entries to merit judging.

Completing your Entry Form:

In order for an entry to be considered in the competition, you must do the following three steps:

  • Each entry will need a signed permission slip. You can fill out the permission slip online by typing in your name and your parent's or guardian's name. Print the form by choosing "print" from the file menu in the left hand corner of the browser (Internet Explorer, Safari, FireFox, etc.) screen. Each person (entrant and parent/guardian) must sign next to the typed name. Scan and save the permission slip as a .jpeg file, attach (not inserted into the body of email), and email to newvoices.competition@gmail.com.
  • Also attach (not inserted into the body of the email) the entry. Entry submissions must be formatted in either MS Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf) and use 12 pt. Times New Roman font.
    • Do not insert entry or entry form into the body of the email.
    • Do not insert graphics into the entry (pictures and/or drawings).
    • Do not submit a GRAPHICAL entry (such as a comic strip format or picture story).
  • In the subject line put: Grade-Category-Name (Eg. MS-Poetry-SueSmith or MS-Story-SueSmith or HS-Story-JohnHancock, etc.) Permission Form and Entry

If you are entering three different pieces, you must complete the following entry form three times and send three separate emails.

Everything listed on the form below is required in order to enter the contest. If there is anything missing, the form will not go through and you will not be entered.

The New Voices Young Writers Competition will not be accepting entries until August 1, 2010. Please return at that time.
